Guard Mission Statement and Core Values

Mission Statement: Our mission is to glorify God through competitive athletics (basketball) and provide a community of faith for local homeschool families.

Core Values

God- We believe that all have been created in the image of God and therefore everyone has worth and value.  We desire to see everyone find their identity in their relationship to God through his Son Jesus Christ.  We seek to provide an environment that supports and encourages its members to walk out their Christian Faith in every aspect of their lives.

Grace- We know that everyone has both strengths and weaknesses and that no one is perfect.  As an organization we desire to extend grace to those around us and that our members would also be gracious toward all players, coaches, referees and administrators that we interact with.

Growth- We seek to encourage and facilitate a growth mindset in all involved in our organization.  Our hope is that all parents and students who join the Guard organization will come with teachable spirits and open minds as we grow together.  We will provide an environment to promote growth in the following areas: Spiritual, Personal, Social and Athletics.

Family- We believe that families are the foundation of society and will work to promote healthy family relationships within our organization.  We want each member of our organization to know that they will have to freedom to make decisions that they see as best for their families.  We also view the guard organization as a family, working together to fill all necessary responsibilities involved in running a basketball program.

Friendship- We desire to see lasting friendships formed within the community of students and parents that participate in our program.  We desire to provide opportunities for our members to get to know one another for support, encouragement and camaraderie.

FUNdamentals- Children begin playing sports because it is fun.  It is our goal that as our students get older, improve their skills and concentrate on the competitive aspects of sports, that we do not lose sight of the reality that there should always be an environment of fun in sports.
